During the time I was off work with a broken wrist, I realized how I was always working and really needed to work more on myself and my overall health and wellbeing I also had constant pain and inflammation in my ribcage and back on the right side due to the position I was in for work. As an Esthetician I’m often flexed forward which is hard on my body.
As you get older you start to lose muscle and your bones become weaker. I knew it was important to keep strong and to prevent Osteoporosis. I also wanted more stamina, to feel better about myself and to live a longer, healthier life. I wanted to strengthen my core and my whole body.
I had heard from a friend of mine who was doing Private sessions at the studio how Pilates helped her with her core strength and overall health. She told me how much she enjoyed Pilates and that it was easy on her joints
Since starting Pilates the pain in my Ribcage is completely gone and I’ve experienced a large decrease in my lower back pain as well. I feel that not only is my core stronger, but my legs are stronger and even look better in a bathing suit. In fact when I went on a recent vacation, I received a few compliments on my legs!
I like that they challenge me but never push me beyond my capabilities. There’s nothing worse than when an instructor yells at you to work harder like a drill sergeant. The instructors at Ross Pilates are well educated, informative and on top of everything.
I would tell anyone to go try it. Anybody can do it. It’s kind to your body. It has done my body, mind and overall health a lot of good.
